PRAISING GOD

Psalm 63 (NIV)

1Oh God, you are my God,

  earnestly I seek you;

my soul thirsts for you,

  my body longs for you,

in a dry and weary land

  where there is no water.

2I have seen you in the sanctuary

  and beheld your power and your glory.

3Because your love is better than life,

  my lips will glorify you.

4I will praise you as long as I live,

  and in your name I will lift up my hands.

5My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods;

  with singing lips my mouth will praise you.

6On my bed I remember you;

  I think of you through the watches of the night.

7Because you are my help,

  I sing in the shadow of your wings.

8My soul clings to you;

  your right hand upholds me.

9They who seek my life will be destroyed;

  they will go down to the depths of the earth.

10They will be given over to the sword

  and become food for jackals.

11But the king will rejoice in God;

  all who swear by God's name will praise him,

  while the mouths of liars will be silenced.

STUDENTS AND EDUCATORS

Please pray for our students, teachers, administrators and all of the staff and support groups during this academic year.

We pray that students have a productive year, one filled with the love of learning and growing into a well-rounded Christians and citizens.  We pray that they be able to learn in a safe environment, full of hope and promise and encouragement.

We pray for the parents and care-givers that they may have patience and love as they guide their young children, recognizing that they are the greatest influence on their children's lives.  We pray that any economic struggles that may keep them for spending time with their children may be lessened and they participate in their children's education with a wholesome and loving attitude.

We pray for teachers and administrators that they recognize they may be the only positive influence in a child's life on any given day.  We offer a prayer of thanksgiving for their love, patience and dedication to their job.  We recognize that there may be burdens imposed by parents and governmental agencies that may hinder the true learning in a classroom and we pray for endurance and patience as they perform their duties.  We pray that their spirits be filled with God's grace and love and be uplifted throughout the year.

Prayer for Students

Father of Light and Wisdom,
thank you for giving me a mind that can know
and a heart that can love.
Help me to keep learning every day of my life-
no matter what the subject may be.
Let me be convinced that all knowledge leads to you
and let me know how to find you and love you
in all the things you have made.

Encourage me when the studies are difficult
and when I am tempted to give up.
Enlighten me when my brain is slow
and help me to grasp the truth held out to me.
Grant me the grace to put my knowledge to use
in building the kingdom of God on earth
so that I may enter the kingdom of God in heaven. Amen.

Teacher's Prayer

Lord in heaven, help me never to forget the beauty in a little child.

Never let me forget the wonder and trust and yearning in their bright, twinkling eyes.

Help me to remember that I am shaping the lives of tomorrow's generation.

And, though I am unworthy of this precious charge,

give me the strength to be the best model scholar

and the best Christian example that I can possibly be.

Give me love to overcome adversity.

Give me patience to overcome trials.

Give me wisdom to overcome my shortcomings.
Give me faith to overcome dark hours.

And, as I find my rest tonight,

help me to love my pupils and to remember them in my prayers.

Give me strength to be equal to tomorrow's task, for I depend on you alone,

just as my pupils depend on me.

OUR TROOPS

Of all the gifts you could give a US Soldier, Sailor, Airman, Marine & others deployed in harm's way, prayer is the very best one!

We pray for God's peace, on earth as it is in heaven, that soldiers of all nations may return home safely to their families.  We pray for the families of the men and women serving our country throughout the world. We pray that we may learn to build bridges instead of building fences and drawing borders.  We pray that we recognize every human being as a child of God, worthy of His love, worthy of our love, worthy of our prayers.  God's will be done.
